The centre for children with functional diversity.
This project has been designed with the aim of satisfying the urgent need of children with functional diversity in Morocco. The center where ElBassma collaborates lacks different services, therefore, from the association, we support NGOs that lack such services. In this way, these children will feel supported.
The activities carried out by the permanent staff and volunteers aim to increase the self-esteem of these children, also to create an educational program that supports their dignity, raise their sense of well-being and favors their personal autonomy.

For the realization of this volunteering it is necessary to have experience or specific training in education and work with children with functional diversity.
Volunteer profiles we need:
The profiles required for this field are all those people who have worked or have studied in any of these disciplines or similar:
- Teaching
- Psychology
- Psychopedagogy
- Pedagogy
- Logopedia
- Social integration
- Occupational therapist
- Sociocultural animation
- Care for people in a situation of dependency
- Geriatric care
Duration of the project and dates of arrivals:
The project has a continuous periodicity and the minimum stay of each volunteer is 2 weeks.
You can choose your volunteer start dates. Contact us to arrange your arrival when you prefer.
What are you going to do in this project?
Artistic and plastic activities: these workshops are aimed at enhancing the creativity of students. Volunteers can do different crafts and games, workshops to support reading, painting, photography, sewing, cooking, body expression, press workshops or urban ecology.
Individualized assisted therapies: as we have explained in our website above, many of the children in attendance require certain individual therapies to improve their physical mobility or develop their mental capacity. For this reason, we need professionals from the sector who can support physiotherapy, psycho-pedagogy or workshops with music therapy or laughter therapy.
Fees:
The fee is €220 for the first two weeks and then €50 for each additional week. This fee includes accommodation, the 3 daily meals and the administrative expenses and the necessary material for the work in the association.
Travel insurance, airline tickets, excursions, mineral water and personal expenses are not included in the price.
Scolarships:
The association will grant a € 90 scholarship to all volunteers who wish to participate in this project. For those who opt for it, the fee will stay at € 130 for the first two weeks.
Accommodation:
Accommodation will take place in our centre or in a home of a Moroccan family.
Project location:
The project will be developed in the city of Errachidia, in the center of the collaborating association.
About the daily work:
Volunteers have to adapt to the center’s schedule and activities, which are usually 6 hours a day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
Volunteers:
The maximum number of participants in the project simultaneously will not exceed 5 people.
