School transportation for the girls of the atlas mountains

Reasoning
Due to the difficult access to education that Atlas children have, many of them are forced to stop attending school, this problem lies in the lack of transportation from these Atlas villages to schools and institutes. This problem of lack of accessibility affects girls who are forced to marry at a very early age, since they have to leave school at these ages and their parents force them to marry because they do not facilitate their educational development.
In August 2015, volunteers from Elbassma carried out a series of activities in the town of Ait Ya-koub in the Atlas Mountains and detected a series of problems that directly affect the education of children, adding to the difficulties of the girls because of the great gender bias that exists and of women because of the heavy workload dedicated to the reproductive and productive activities of the community.
From the Elbassma association we want to formulate this project to facilitate access to education for girls, since they are the main affected ones, with a safe transport so that they can go to schools normally, parents do not have the economic financial to pay for the bus and also they don’t let them go alone because of the great distance between their homes and the school.
According to primary data collected in the village, less than 1% of the girls in the village manage to reach secondary education, this situation is very alarming for the development of girls from the Ait Yakoub village. Only two girls have managed to study at the university.
Project goals
– Buy a bus for school use.
– Facilitate access to education for girls so they can go to secondary schools as normal.
-Help families with a contribution fir the bus and a driver so that they do not have to pay school transportation and can go to the centers in a safe way.
-Support the educational development of the girls of the Ait Yabkoub village.
-Develop the village through access to education for girls, these being the engine of community development.
How will we carry it out?
From the Elbassma Association we want to buy a bus in Spain, being cheaper, and take it to the village of Ait Yabouk so that the girls can use it for school use.
When and where?
The project will begin in September 2017 with the start of the school year, we want to obtain economic resources to facilitate the transport at this time in the town of Ait Yakoub, in the same town where we are doing the educational project of the nursery.

Financing:
The initial cost of the project is € 6997. The association will allocate € 1200 from the remaining € 1677 last year for this project. To achieve full funding, the association must collect € 5797, for which different options are being considered.

Last year we were able to collect money in order to fund the Atlas girls school transportation. Together with our volunteer team and sponsors we have been trying to achieve the money needed, but because of the big amount of money that we need to develop this project and the lack of time, we were not able to do it. That is why we had to interrupt this project.
