How many volunteers participate in a project?

The number of volunteers varies depending on the project, for example, a maximum of 5 volunteers participate in the project of children with functional diversity, and a maximum of 20 volunteers participate in the summer projects.

That depends on the project chosen, but normally you will work between 3 and 6 hours per day.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Pick up”]

Will you pick me up at the airport when I arrive?

Yes, from the association we do a pick-up at the Marrakech airport one day before the project starts. If you do not arrive that day, or you can not arrive at the scheduled time or you decide to fly to another city, we will send you all the necessary information and addresses so that you can travel to the city where your project will be developed.

Can I leave the project one day before it ends?

We do not recommend this option, but if for some reason you have to leave before, you can leave the project, but from there on you will be out of the responsibility of the Association.

When do I have to arrive at the project if I am not present in the pick-up?

We recommend arriving the same day as the project starts in the morning, since in the afternoon we start the program with an initial meeting. So the ideal is to arrive in Morocco the day before to have enough time to get to Errachidia.

For example: If the project starts on July 16, you will have to arrive at the airport in Marrakech on July 15, since there are some cities where we have projects such as Errachidia, which are about 8-10 hours away from the main airports.

Are you coming with us to Marrakech on the day of return?

If in your project it is not specified that the transport will accompany you throughout the project, then we will not travel with you on the bus back to Marrakech. But normally you are not going to travel alone since most of the volunteers meet again on the return bus.

What type of food is there?

A Moroccan cook will prepare typical dishes of the country’s gastronomy. All volunteers will be responsible for washing their dishes and keeping their spaces, clothes, etc. clean.

To reserve your place you have to pay the amount of 60 euros (which will be deducted from the end).

In the case of not being able to go, you will not be reimbursed the amount paid, but it will be reserved for you next year.

Why will the € 60 not be refunded?

The € 60 is considered as the registration in our volunteer program, which allows the volunteers to do the projects they want during the course without paying them back, and at the moment of accepting you as a volunteer the association sends you a Volunteer kit, this kit contains several accesories that will help you during your stay as a volunteer in Errachidia and even to finance your volunteering. This kit is managed thanks to these € 60.

How do I pay the fees?

The participation fees have to be pay to the Asociación El Bassma bank account:, and also can be paid using:

Once you are accepted in the project, we will send you more information about how to pay it.

When do we have to pay the rest of the payment?

The rest of the payment can be paid to the association’s account or paid once you arrive at the work camp. If you opt for the second option, you can pay in the currency you prefer. We advise you to exchange the money in Morocco, since this way it will be more profitable, you can exchange it when you arrive at the airport.

Why are some projects more expensive than others:

We have some projects that are in the center of the city of Errachidia and there are others that are in the outskirts, the projects that are on the outskirts are difficult to get accommodation for, therefore, we need to stay in a hotel and a transport that we take to where we are going to work. However, the projects that are in the city are all close by, so in the first case the cost of the project is higher than in the second one.

What is the welcoming pack?

The welcoming pack is a pack that we send to volunteers when they confirm their places. This pack has material for your volunteering, such as a purse, bracelet, promotional material, etc.
